Friction Fire Demonstration - by George Looney


 


This is all ya need to start a fire, the spindle and hearth board is made of Yuca, alot of other nonresinous wooods will work such as cottonwood.



The tender here is Red Cedar bark, rolled up like a rats nest.



This is how the bow is used on the spindle,primitive man would have used a rawhide string for this, Nylon last longer tho.



here we have smoke,,even just after a few pumps on the bow.



We have Spark...We have Spark.



The ember is then placed inside the tender,,and BLOW !



Just blow till...Poof !!! FIRE this is alot of fun to do. Gran yungins just love it. enjoy
